Another Hypocrite

Not surprising, it seems that her majesty, Oprah, is declining to have Sarah Palin as a guest on her show. At first she outright said no, but as the backlash began she then recanted and said that AFTER the election she would have her on. We all know what a HUGE(no pun) supporter she is of Obama, I think she would marry him if given the opportunity, and it would cause conflict for her. As someone who has never been a fan this does not surprise me.

Although she sure has had her fair share of other "controversial" guests. Tom Cruise mad a total ass out of himself on her show and she continues to gush and fawn and have him on, even after all his crazy Scientology gaffs about post-partum depression and the like. She had writer James Fry back, to chastise him, after he was shown to have lied when he created his best selling book about his drug life and all that other crap was that proven to be false.

So, all these years that she has been an alleged pusher of women's issues and her magazine is all about "make yourself better girls" she is deciding not to showcase a professional working woman/mother who is her biggest demographic? Like I say, I am not, nor have I ever been a fan, and this just seals the deal for me. I hope, as I have heard, that many working and professional women are and will be boycotting both her show and magazine.

Historical accomplishments are only considered so if they are made by Democrats.

I'm not one of those people who tries to blame the 'liberal media' for everything but there are some cases where there is a clear bias. Oprah has a huge audience that adores her in an almost cultlike fashion. She gets to put on as many free campaign commercials as she pleases between now and the election.

Another thing that pissed me off is that MSNBC had uberliberal Keith Olbermann as the ringleader for their convention coverages. I think their journalistic integrity is compromised.

I am no fan of Sarah Palin. She is pro-life(no exceptions),against gay rights, pro gun(I am,too)and her family is for Alaska seperating from the United States. She is a flip flopper(the bridge to nowhere),an opportunist(that I somewhat like),cut throat. She doesn't care who she steps on to get what she wants.

Perhaps I am too stupid to see what people like in her except that she is a fairly attractive manipulative powerful woman.

That she is the 2nd female V.P. choice is semi-histortic,I suppose, but to chosen just because she is a woman sort of takes the glam away from it...

Her political leanings should be of no matter when assessing whether or not to have her on as a woman guest who is a professional, woman/homemaker in a predominately male world. Isn't that the mantra of Oprah and her "I stand for woman's issues show"?

The same should hold true to diehard republican Jay Leno, but,I concede your point.I think Oprah is actually afraid of this woman...no easy deed

Jay Leno?? He doesn't pretend to be anything other than a comedian. He doesn't consider himself a leader of mens issues etc.

Oprah believes that she and Obama rule the world. :-D

Ha!Shows what you know.Jay Leno is a strong republican, and has republicans on all the time.Ah'dold announced he was running for governor on his show.He had Mccain on during the DNC..he don't hide it

Whatever he does is not the same as what Oprah professes. She makes claims...Jay Leno does not. He is what he is. She is either for ALL womens issues or not. She either supports them or not. In this case she is not supporting this woman and her issues and what she stands for as a professional woman. That is the point. Not who does what in the entire entertainment industry.

How is Palin a woman issue?I was a Hillary fan...still am...but Palin? It is just scary to think that she could be president if McCain dies. She believes in nothing you do..I don't see why you like her.

DRew,

I did not say that I liked her, but fair is fair. I am a very strict believer in equality across the board. So, if Oprah stands for woman & their issues then she should have no reason, other than political, not to have a Governor on her show that is a woman of achievement, a mother juggling work and home, just like all of her target audience (supposedly).

You have made the assumption that I like her because I am arguing against all of the double standards.

Yet Oprah will have the likes of Tom Cruise and James Fry who have nothing to offer in the way of insight etc. to any woman.

That is my point. You just can not see it because you are so blinded by your furor over Obama that you want to hate them, the other side so greatly, and can not hear anything to the contrary.
